The Perseus leaves port at 08:00 as planned. Skies are clear and the sea is calm. The regulars are settling back in to their old routines while the new seamen we picked up in Japan are gathering on deck, either enjoying the spray or vomiting over the side. Kohaku's keeping an eye on them.
I told Kaseki to begin working on a new diamond battery for the Medusa that Ukyo is keeping safe. He should have that done in a few hours, even with the boat's motion. In the meanwhile, I continue working on the rocket plans in the lab. At some point Chelsea passes through and almost breaks one of the round-bottom flasks I had by knocking over the clamp stand. At this point her clumsiness is almost malevolent, why does she have to touch everything?
Later, Kaseki comes in with the diamond and Ukyo joins us moments later with the Medusa. I clear my papers so Kaseki can get to work putting the diamond into the device, and then go with Ukyo to the comms room to have a meeting with the brothers.
The meeting takes what feels like hours, but we do eventually come to an agreement. We decide to first head back to the old Nanami Corp. University and see if any of Sai's colleagues were revived yet. Sai seemed to have a few candidates in mind but getting their names and specialties from him was a pain. I had to convince him we were only speaking theoretically since he seemed to not want to revive them, but that's definitely not happening. Ryusui can distract him with chess or something while I dump revival fluid on them.
Finding and reviving Sai's colleagues shouldn't take too long (assuming their statues are intact) so afterwards we'll go along the coast to begin reviving people at other universities: the Indian Institutes of Technology in Bombay, Goa, Palakkad and finally Madras, where we'll also check the Chennai Mathematical Institute for candidates before returning to Japan.
I leave the meeting first since Ukyo seemed to have business with Ryusui, only to find Kaseki, Francois and Gen crowding my lab. I was going to kick them all out but Gen hands me a cup of tea before I can protest. It tasted a little different to how Francois usually makes it, but I still shooed everyone out since Kaseki had finished putting the battery in and deserved a break.
A short while later, Ukyo comes in with his creepy placid smile and takes the Medusa back to bring it down to the Medusa room. I try going back to working on the rocket plans but I can't focus because of a headache coming on. I consider asking Francois for more tea but I can't be bothered to hunt them down while they're doing their rounds.
After an indeterminate amount of time spent growing more irritated at a blank piece of paper, I hear a bunch of shouting. I head out, expecting to need to tell a bunch of newbies to shut the hell up, but discover that the Medusa apparently activated by itself.
