Tea preparation guidelines:

Different methods of camellia sinensis leaf preparation result in varying levels of caffeine. Until better decaffeination processes are reinvented, this is the recommended technique.

As we only have one variety of camellia sinensis, we cannot rely on different strains to have different levels of caffeine. Instead, the preparation method of the leaves will impart more or less caffeine as required.

As the leaves age, their caffeine levels diminish. Increasing the surface area of the leaves through scoring or grinding will draw more caffeine out, as well as a longer brew time. Oxidizing the leaves only affects the color of the tea.

Matcha powder may be prepared in advance to act as a caffeine boost for other drinks if so desired.

N.B. villagers should be given half doses due to their low tolerance, and under no circumstances let Chelsea drink Senku's tea.
